The first time I heard this song, the production made it seem like it was from one of his very early albums. His voice also sounded different, and when I looked to see which record it appeared on, I was surprised to see it opened up his final rock album, River Of Dreams. A very underrated album in my opinion, and I surprised myself by picking two songs from it for this record. Immediately when I heard it, however, I knew I wanted to slow it down, even down to the chords I wanted to play. I think it works just as well as a slow folk piece, especially with the observant lyrics.
Alec Bowman perfectly captures the dark soil under the pastoral world of British folk with this collection of melancholy originals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 12, 2020
Turbulent indie rock from Levi Fuller & the Library that has the snarl of hardcore and the knotty meter of math rock. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 13, 2018
