The Sermon 04:12
Ladies and gentlemen We are gathered here today to steal from our heroes We’re here to take what they’ve done and utilize it into our own creative worlds It is okay to wear your influences on your sleeves like the hairs on your skin Because good artists will borrow, great artists will steal, but only the best artists can get away with it without anybody noticing, because they’ve created something new with what they’ve taken If you stole original paintings from Monet, Picasso, and Van Gogh, sliced them up and created A brand new painting combining the three, it could be better than any work each artist did on their own. It is okay to take what you love what play with it, and that’s what this whole life is all about. Under all the hatred and sorrow there is an immovable force that is love, it is all around us, it is what keeps us going, it is the underlying way that we as humans function every single day. Love is the good word, Love is the great word, Love is the only word So when you call up that shrink in Miami FLA, you know the one Doctor Nothing’s Ever Gonna Be Okay And You’re Doomed For Eternity, You tell that doctor you don’t need his help, you don’t need his medicine, You don’t need his prescriptions, you don’t need the diagnoses of the American Medical Association, all you really need in this life is love, and this house is full of love. Love for every one, love in all capacities, this is a house of love. This is Gauze House, and it is a house of love This is Gauze House, and Gauze love is all around us This is Gauze House and we are all Gauze Children, that’s right Gauze Children till the day we die and when we die we die with love in our hearts, in our fists, and on our faces, Gauze love all we have it is what unites us So take Gauze love and hold with you through this experience, never lose sight of it, Brace it against your chest and proclaim to the world you have love, you have love and it is Gauze love So take that love and be loved, and love yourself, and your surroundings, and your influences Gauze love is all powerful, Gauze love is life, Gauze love is love, love is what makes us Gauze children, and love is what will keep us this way. Today, tomorrow, forever, love!

Black Coat 04:58
There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall And it covers up the shadows that are hiding on the wall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall Two doors down from the angels’ bedrooms where no light shines in at all Yeah they’re sleeping, bleeding, scheming, breeding, but never dreaming Of a better way escaping all the prodigals they’re painting No more signs of simplistic redemption This is war and chaos theory theologians never mention With faces glued to text so ancient they never stick As they’re peeling off of things from which they will never admit I do not believe in benevolence, I never found its relevance Excuses for transcendence reflect questionable intelligence The art of high horse riding is blinding in the light Of a self-righteous pariah never caught inside a plight I hear voices, noises that evaluate my choices What’s a boy without a boisterous ego lacking in his coitus? But it’s simple: brittle as a bitter sleeping pillar Walls coaxed with a coat of concrete damned to never reach fulfillment There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall And it covers up the shadows that are hiding on the wall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall Right above the black boots muddied by the weather of the fall Yeah they’re sitting, idle shitty stitching in the breaching Of the soles so slightly worn but beat enough to stop your wearing No more chance to dance off the alabaster balustrade Balancing a chalice off a rapid blasting Batarang Amassed in a glass case rocks would never break through When lies tread crooked waters it is hard to find the straight truth In a vintage aircraft boneyard lies a record player tone arm Never put to use but laid to rest by haters who berate art A stoned teen who never learned Giger appreciation Will get his giggles out on Cartoon Network animation I feel sickly, succumbing to the Grey Man way of living Like an infant screaming teething I am angry, I am seething Could this be the point of the divinest realization? And if so I bid you everyone my finest salutations There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall And it covers up the shadows that are hiding on the wall This was something now it’s nothing And it’s budding slutty touching Ruddy sucking at the blood we spill Like cutting funky drumming From a cruddy record study Dumping trumpet loops to gullies Dummies loving claiming running But they’re gluttons, fucking trust me Plush is stuffed inside your tummies It’s abundantly disgusting In a rush of pumping scum into Unlucky ugly ducklings Chumps are summoning their plumbing Like a trumped Augustus coming To a numbing sense of wonderment And shutting off his humming There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall There’s a black coat hanging in the hall And it covers up the shadows that are hiding on the wall

Get Smart 04:03
To all the artists that were told you could never do a thing And sat moping on the porch while the dinner bells ring You still got a bit a time to present what you wanna say And still get to kick a few asses along the way I write lines in my verses I thought nobody would hear I was supposed to amount to nothing but I’ll never disappear There’s a conscience in my confidence that’s always acted low But I stitched up all my demons and I’ll reap what I will sow Never lost a motivation for what actually mattered If something had to get done fast I’d get it done faster As long as it pertained to some life importance ‘Cause I’m not about to move my day around some retail worship In between every “Thanks for shopping with us” I’d be writing ideas and brand new lyrics Come home after every shift with a plan To make personal progress on a brand new jam For the minuscule people that actually care But imma up those numbers by the end of the year Take both middle fingers deep outta the muck And flip em to every asshole who said my music sucked To all the artists that were told you could never do a thing And sat moping on the porch while the dinner bells ring You still got a bit a time to present what you wanna say And still get to kick a few asses along the way Never been so tough, never been so brutish Always been too shy, always felt so foolish And maybe for once I feel better than ever Now that I finally did something interesting with a record I spent years playing sad folk songs for friends And that period for now is at its end While I may have done something different with the rhyme I wrote the same damn song like 97 times Life goes verse chorus verse then it’s over Whittles down to just a few lines when you’re older It’s all too short for all the same words With the same melody and the same three chords If the project goes well I could do it again Or I could shut up for a while and just put down the pen Cos outta fifteen records there’s five good songs And they all sound the same and they last too long To all the artists that were told you could never do a thing And sat moping on the porch while the dinner bells ring You still got a bit a time to present what you wanna say And still get to kick a few asses along the way Ain’t got no time to repeat myself Ain’t got no time to repeat myself Ain’t got no time to repeat myself Breaking news: I’m a hypocrite too, what else?

Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil In a ’99 Neon blasting metal instrumentals South back roads where the soda costs a penny No speed limitations with the tumbleweeds a plenty The heavier the car, the faster in the dark The vehicle you drive is what makes you what you are Windows down for breeze, lowering my feet The only thing you see, you know it’s gonna be 80 in a 50, tank half full Got no set location and an open road Dust settles in skid marks back west Put the pedal to the metal and the metal to the test Cranked sound dial, pop can pile Haven’t seen a recognizable face in a while Gnashing at the bit, headbanging while I sit Double up or quit, double stake or split You know I’m born to lose, and gambling’s for fools And like my baby Charli I’ll be breaking all the rules Shaken antennae, D to the lever But that’s the way I like it, I don’t wanna live forever Rubber burning hubcaps, tires on the fritz And switch the shift slick, position it quick Fuzz in the rearview, tail light’s broke And hope that no joke you’ll just go unknown You know we’re going fast, you’re never gonna last The bass is booming, arms are out the window while I pass I got a love for speed, it never can be beat I don’t share your greed ‘cause the only car I need is the

They say the first person you think about right when you wake up is the person making you happiest or saddest that means someone in your life is significant enough to either make you cry or travel halfway across your atlas And you just don’t have the time to sit down and deal with The trials and tribulations of all the snot-nosed bastards ‘Cause if you spend too much time making too many people happy You’ll forget about yourself and you will surely get your ass kicked If you’re ever feeling like you can’t get out and you feel locked up and trapped You think something has to chains but you can’t undo the shackles And the only dirty secrets that you have left to hide Is the vintage stack of pornos lying underneath your mattress And it’s really hard to stay so upbeat and optimistic When the whole wide world around you has gone completely batshit When the heat becomes too much and the cold so bitter you can’t stand it You’re left to brush out your expression, the big bad world’s your canvas And life gets thrown at you so hard and so fast It’s unbelievable to think that you could really catch it ‘Cause every day it alters and it switches up its speed Some days it’s full of harmony and some days full of madness And whose idea was it to make it so easy to die? Maybe it was Eve’s or it maybe it was Adam’s Or maybe it was Snow White who simply tried to show us That you never know when you might get a batch of poison apples Three knocks on your front door, the mailman’s here to see you And he greets you with the presence of an unexpected package You bring it in and cut up the packing tape all around it And to your surprise there’s nothing in it And you’ll never get to go on that cross-country expedition And you’ll never get a chance to have a big fantastic voyage It if you sit inside your house and whine and mope and ask “Why in the hell was I put on this Earth” Well it’s not so you could ask that

I know a place in the sun where it never heats up I know a place on the moon where it never gets cold I see a face on the outskirts of space And it sits and it waits and it waits and it waits I know a place in the sun I know a place in the sun where the fire goes out I know a place on the moon with no craters at all I see a star shining bright, shining far Shining so we don’t ever forget who we are I know a place in the sun I know a place in the sun where there’s plenty of air I know a place on the moon ridden of any flags I see a supernovaic-like portal That feasts on the souls of the high-horse immortals I know a place in the sun I know a place in the sun where you don’t have to scream I know a place on the moon where there’s not any fear I see collections of filth and debris That accentuate flaws found in you and in me I know a place in the sun I know a place in the sun that’s purported and black I know a place on the moon where the darkness will cease I see a meteor heading straight towards The edge of the Earth with impeccable force I know a place in the sun I know a place in the sun where you will never die I know a place on the moon where you still feel at home I see these visions of solar imprisonment Never desired by inhumane residents I know place in the sun

The sun's out but I'm not excited Sick of love so unrequited Can't make my soul feel brightened Feel like I'm slowly dying I sweat and cough and I'm wishing For someone to start committing To my various psychoses I'm sick and sad and boring The most common three shapes of my mouth make out "I'm sorry" I am the international champion of regretting My bones are brittle and my loneliness is crippling I am a slave to pure vitriolic seething The town's hotter but I'm still chilling Trying to find something fulfilling Find comfort in hard bleeding Unstable sans careening Fight hard to just stay happy Enjoyment's what I'm lacking Each statement I'm retracting In fear of vulgar shedding The most common three shapes of my mouth make out "I'm sorry" I am the international champion of regretting My bones are brittle and my loneliness is crippling I am a slave to pure vitriolic seething I'm tired but never sleeping Love's not what I'm receiving Dead flies stuck to the ceiling Can't seem to shake this feeling Stricken with tested patience Questioning aspirations Just want some new relations But I have my reservations The most common three shapes of my mouth make out "I'm sorry" I am the international champion of regretting My bones are brittle and my loneliness is crippling I am a slave to pure vitriolic seething

(You don’t look good) I’m not (What’s wrong?) What isn’t? (Cheer up) I couldn’t if it was a clear cut decision (Why not?) I’m pissed (Just smile) I can’t (Wake up) No thanks I think I’m gonna stay in bed (You tired?) Little bit (No sleep?) Not ever (Just try) Listen I don’t think you really fucking get it (Back off) I’m sorry (Are you?) Not really (Thought so) Look I don’t appreciate you yelling at me (We’re calm) I know (You’re not) I know (Chill out) Well I was fine before when I was all alone (Well do you wanna talk about it?) Not at all (Do you wanna let it out?) No, not in the slightest (It might make you feel better) Nah, I’ll only feel worse (Just give it a shot) Nah, I’m not gonna try it (Why are you so negative?) Why do you give a fuck? (I’m just trying to help) Well you can help by shutting up (You’re being rude) I’m just being myself (You really could use a friend) I don’t need any help, I swear, I’m fine (Feel any better?) Not really (You slept!) Not really (Come on) Look I really do not want you talking to me (Tough shit) The fuck? (I’m here) Don’t have to (Be nice) I’m gonna be much better off without you (You won’t) I will (You sure?) I am (Alright) Thanks and please do not come back in here again (One thing) Ugh, what? (You’re wrong) I’m not (I’m staying) If you don’t leave I’m gonna fucking kick you out (Please stop) Fuck that (Calm down) I can’t (I’m sorry) If you were you would’ve left when I asked (I really think you should talk about it) Go away (Just try and let it out) I’ve got nothing inside me (It’ll make you feel better) I’m already fucked (Just give it a shot) Nah I’ve put that shit behind me (I’m just looking out for you) I know I understand (Then why are you so angry?) I don’t like being attacked (I don’t like it either) Please don’t put the blame on me (You could really use a friend) That’s about the last thing I need, I swear, I’m fine

When you hear me cry, I don't weep over nothing When you hear me scream, I don't get scared over nothing When you hear me call, I don't get tied up over nothing When you hear me curse, I don't get mad over nothing When you hear me laugh, I don't think everything's funny When I lose my breath, I don't usually like running When I take my chances, I don't think I'm so lucky When I fall down fast, I don't care if I'm bloody Wanna make you mine, I won't settle for another Wanna steal your heart, I won't stay so undercover Wanna kiss your face, I won't think of prior lovers Wanna have you bet, 'cause you know I'm half as better When I see you smile, I wanna keep making it happen When I change my style, I wanna keep you to the fashion When I hold your hand, I wanna feel your heart grabbing When it beats for me, and not any other man
